GLL Welcomes New Graduate Students

Germanic Languages and Literatures is delighted to welcome eleven new graduate students this fall. Three of them come from Germany, two from the TU-Dresden (Carolin Müller and Frauke Senckel), one from the FU-Berlin (Nadine Finsterle). These students will be with the program for only a short-term basis.

The remaining new students come from a variety of institutions. Katharina Aigner has an MA from the University of Vienna. Four new students are from Ohio schools: Timothy Reinhart graduated from Baldwin-Wallace, while Seth Warncke has a BA from Wright State University. Two were undergraduates in our program: Kassi Burnett and Bryan Knowlton. Allyn Heath will be joining GLL from East Tennessee State University. And Kathrin Frenzel, who taught for us last year and has an MA from the University of Jena, will be entering our program as well this fall.

A student from the University of Nottingham (Stephanie Walford) has deferred her admission until the fall of 2015. But a student who deferred last year and has a Masters from the University of Alabama (Obenewaa Oduro-Opuni) will be joining us this fall.

This cohort is one of the largest in recent years. The varied interests and excellent academic backgrounds of the new students provides a good indication of the vibrancy and diversity in our program.
