Amy Kepple Strawser teaches German and cultural studies in Central Ohio. She received graduate degrees from The Ohio State University with a dissertation entitled “Imaging the Body in Contemporary German and American Women’s Poetry: Helga Novak, Ursula Krechel, Carolyn Forché, Nikki Giovanni,” advised by Professor Helen Fehervary.
In 2010, she published a bilingual translation of Ursula Krechel’s Voices from the Bitter Core with Host Publications. In 2017, she and Helen Fehervary published translations of three stories by Anna Seghers including “The Excursion of the Dead Girls” in American Imago. Other of her poetry translations have appeared in International Poetry Review and PEN International.
