Franz Kafka (1883-1924) was born into a German- and Yiddish-speaking Czech Jewish family in Prague 

AU24 semester - Kafka Exhibition, featuring illustrations by Nicholas Mahler

  • This wonderful exhibition of 40 posters takes viewers into Kafka’s life, work, mind, and humor through Mahler’s comic artistry. 
  • in the Hagerty Hall Global Gallery {1st-floor Foyer}
  • on display throughout the autumn 2024 semester!
  • made possible by a Germany-on-Campus grant from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany – Washington, D.C.

Oct 10  Kafka German Day ~ a day of events & competitions for high school visitors! (by invitation only)

Oct 15  Lucia Mann presents ~ From the Writing Room to the Living Room: A Case-Study in Making a Movie in Contemporary Germany

Oct 22  Oliver Simons (Columbia) presents - Precarious Syntax: Kafka’s Sentence Writing

Oct 31   A Kafka Halloween Event in  the Hagerty Hall Courtyard, 7:00pm
Featuring the tales of Kafka, including: The Vulture; The Knock on the Garden Gate; Fratricide; A Little Fable; The Next Village; The Pest ... and more!  Light Refreshments will be provided.

Nov  4   The Trial (1962 – restored in 4K) at the Wexner Film Theater, 4:00-6:00pm  Free tickets!

Nov 13  KAFKA FESTIVAL ~ a day of events & competitions for our undergraduates!

                 4:00-5:30pm at the Ohio Union, 3rd Floor, Rosa M. Ailabouni Room
