Call for Publications (2024-2025)
The Umwelt Center for Germanic Studies and Environmental Humanities at The Ohio State is launching a regular Publication Digest highlighting recently published scholarship at the intersection of Environmental Humanities / Ecocriticism and Germanic Studies, including German, Dutch, Yiddish, and Scandinavian, and historical or transregional Germanic-language contexts.
We are currently compiling a list of publications from 2024 and 2025 and invite scholars to share information about their work with us. The digest will be posted as a resource to the Umwelt Center’s website to function as a public resource for scholars, students, and the public (along with other Umwelt Center resources like our scholar directory and Wiki), and will be shared with relevant listservs.
We welcome submissions of monographs, edited volumes, journal articles, book chapters, special issues, critical editions or anthologies, or digital or public-facing scholarly work published in 2024 or 2025 that engage with any topic within this interdisciplinary field.
If you would like to share your work with us, please email Anna-Maria Senuysal at senuysal.1@osu.edu with the following information:
- Title of the work
- Type (monograph, edited volume, article…)
- Author name(s)
- Institutional and departmental affiliation(s)
- Publishing venue and year
- Language of the work

Submissions are welcome by January 23, 2025.
We look forward to sharing and amplifying recent work at the intersection of Environmental Humanities and Germanic Studies!
