John (Jay) Gaines, alumnus of the 2016 Dresden Summer Language Program, is currently an intern in the Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin!  

He reports that work has been busy with events like the annual Berlinale and the Munich Security Conference, but it has also been rewarding.  The PA Section is the cultural and educational exchange arm of the Embassy, which gives him an opportunity to visit local schools, work under Foreign Service Officers, and understand better how exchange programs between Germany and the U.S. work.
