Publication News!
We’re thrilled to share that GLL’s Assistant Professor Cynthia D. Porter has published her second chapter contribution to an edited volume! Co-authored with long-time collaborator Amy Lynne Hill (Austin Peay State University), their chapter—“SXTN’s Music and Şahin’s Female Sex Speech: Reclaiming ‘Fotze,’ Reinvesting Race”—appears in Feminist Anger in German-Language Cultural Production: Responses to Racism, Misogyny, and Other Injustice, edited by Julia K. Gruber and Regina Range and published by Camden House (Boyden & Brewer) as part of the series Women and Gender in German Studies (December 2025).
This achievement is especially meaningful as Cynthia’s 2022 job talk on the topic and her participation in the department’s Brown Bag series in 2024 gave colleagues a chance to engage with the project as it evolved toward publication.
Congratulations on bringing this important work to fruition!
