zæsur, online journal, is Live!

Online Journal goes live

In January 2025, the freely accessible online journal for poetry criticism/reviews zæsur. poesiekritik went live, with the help of a generous grant by the city of Berlin, Germany, and private donations, and under the artistic direction of Asmus Trautsch, Berlin-based poet, philosopher, curator, literary scholar, editor, composer, and musician. Co-founded by a group of poetry critics, scholars, and poets, including May Mergenthaler who currently also serves as co-editor, with poet and critic Hendrik Jackson, zæsur encourages critical thinking about poetry in a variety of formats, from the classical review to podcast and videos.

Currently focusing on poetry in German or translation to German and criticism in that language, the journal will, starting summer 2025, also contain English-language contributions.

For more information and ways to support and participate in the journal see the website of zæsur, or contact May Mergenthaler.
