After many years serving Germanic Languages and Literatures and, in more recent times, the departments on the fourth floor of Hagerty Hall, Brenda Hosey retired at the end of November. We all wish her well in retirement.

Together with Comparative Studies and Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures, GLL hired a new human resources and financial staff member, Catherine Kotol, who began work this week. Katie will be located in Brenda’s old office for at least the coming term.

Katie has a wealth of experience in the areas entrusted to her. She has been at Ohio State for over a decade working mostly in grants administration. In her most recent position she was Senior Grants and Contracts Specialist in the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute. She comes to us highly recommended for her service orientation and her attention to detail.

Katie will work together with Shu-Wen Tsai to form a great team for human resources, accounting, and budget. Along with Natascha Miller, the Academic Program Coordinator for GLL, we go into 2015 fully staffed with a talented group of dedicated professionals.
