Consul General Wolfgang Mössinger meets students

Consul General Moessinger at Ohio State

Consul General Wolfgang Mössinger and Fabrizio Micalizzi, assistant to the coordinator of transatlantic cooperation, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chicago visited Ohio State on May 4 to open a dialogue with current and former exchange students, scientists, researchers, and faculty on the benefits and challenges of collaboration between the two nations.

The campus visit included both virtual and in-person attendees, including our current TU Dresden Exchange Visitor, many GLL students, and Prof. Taleghani-Nikazm, Director of Undergraduate German Language Instruction. The discussion centered on “Germany’s Footprint in Research and Higher Education in Ohio, and a robust conversation followed, covering topics ranging from student mobility, funding opportunities, German language instruction, and government support for critical research in STEM fields.

"German-American relations are strong: business links, scientific and academic exchanges, joint cultural projects and – above all – long-standing personal ties constitute the base for our friendship."
