Kevin Richards was recently interviewed by David Staley for the Voices of Excellence from Arts and Science podcast, in which they discuss the embodied experience of the internet, i.e. the Metaverse, and how converging technologies will offer new research and educational opportunities. This includes experiences such as ‘teleporting’ your presence across the globe to interact and collaborate with others as if in the same room. This vision of the future could at one time only be found in science fiction, and this leads the discussion to the German-speaking authors who adeptly combine the arts and sciences to offer insights into the social and ethical challenges of new and future technologies.
