An exciting learning adventure
Over the course of the Spring 2017 semester, Graduate Teaching Associate Carolin Müller is undertaking an exciting new teaching project that engages issues of migration in German language acquisition in her beginning-level German class.
The students engage with the Swiss-German documentary Neuland which tells the story of a group of young migrants who come to Basel, Switzerland, from various countries. Anna Thommen’s documentary, along with print and digital materials on the subject, and video conversations with guest speakers from Germany, provide the students with authentic German language materials that facilitate a fruitful learning opportunity. In addition, students critically engage the German-speaking world.
If you are interested in learning more about the project, feel free to contact Carolin Müller (mueller.377@osu.edu) or check out the website.
