Mergenthaler receives Fellowship and Research Award
Congratulations to May Mergenthaler, Associate Professor, who has received an 18-month Alexander-von-Humboldt Fellowship for Experienced Researchers!
She will use the fellowship to continue research on her monograph exploring what she argues is the crucial function of concepts and figures of light in the emergence of modern lyric nature poetry in the 18th century. Her project will also be funded by the 2019-20 Virginia Hull Research Award for Scholarship in the Humanities, which supports diversity at the university, consistent with the university’s mission, with particular attention to, but not limited to, female faculty members in the Humanities who are at the rank of assistant or associate professor.
