Paul Reitter’s translation of The Autobiography of Solomon Maimon was selected as a finalist for the 2019 National Jewish Book Award in Autobiography and Memoir, an unexpected honor for a new rendering of a book first published in 1792/3. Administered by the National Jewish Book Council, the National Jewish Book Awards is now in its 69th year, which makes it the longest-running program of its kind in North America.
