A salute to our 2015 departmental award winners

The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures proudly salutes the student recipients of its annual awards.

Wenxi Yang received the Dieter Cunz Award for the outstanding undergraduate student in GLL. In addition to her academic excellence, Wenxi was very active in the German Club and in the Gothic, Old English, and OHG reading groups as well as in various departmental events.

Danielle Meyer won the Undergraduate Research Paper Award (German language) for her fine research on Brecht's Leben des Galilei. Sarah Blakeman won the Undergraduate Research Paper Award (English language) for her excellent essay entitled The New Bundestag Building and the Move of Germany's Capital from Bonn to Berlin.

And, finally, Marcus Breyer, Sarah Larson, Geoffrey Algar, and Bill Baker jointly won the Graduate Student Service Award for their outstanding work organizing the graduate student body and this year's successful conference on "Configurations of Human Bodies."
